Central Community School District of De Witt

100-6th Avenue
563-659-0700

In July 2005, the Central Community School District Board of Education hired Frevert Ramsey and Kobes architectural firm (West DesMoines) to begin work on the district's facilities needs as established by the Five-Year Plan. Steve Zbylicki, architect, hit the ground running with a series of meetings with facility teams, with administrators and with staff as he developed a master plan for the district. The plan included three phases of construction at the high school/middle school complex and an addition to Ekstrand.

The Board approved construction phase I and II at the high school at a cost of $3.2 million. The high school additions will be funded entirely by the Local Option Sales Tax revenues. Construction on these two projects will begin in July 2006 with occupancy planned for August of 2007. The new addition will be air-conditioned.
