In December 1987, the Lord called Ken Morrison to leave secular service and enter sacred service, impressing on him that while many men have the ability to engage in business and do well, not many are willing to do God's business. What Ken didn't realize at the time was that God wanted him to leave a comfortable lifestyle for an abundant life. Ken soon got the message when he could find no peace in what he was doing; the job he had could no longer satisfy him nor could he satisfy it. God moved him and took away his dependence on the world and his own ability and forced Ken to trust in Him. The learning tree included the fruit of self-denial and humiliation, never-the-less God was gracious and brought the family closer together during this time.

A time of testing came in the Spring of 1989 when they were called to organize and conduct an evangelistic campaign in Rosebud, Texas where no one but God and family were there to encourage them. Several members of Central Arlington joined in walking the streets and knocking on doors to take the Gospel to others. God caused many to hear the Gospel and 19 were baptized during the two week campaign in this dusty town where Ken's mother grew up. All glory to God who provided transportation, workers and His Holy Spirit to do the work.
