Carroll County Genealogical Society, Inc.

The Carroll County Genealogical Society, Inc. was founded in 1981 to stimulate interest in genealogy, to educate the membership and general public in proper and ethical methods of genealogical research, and to gather, record, and disseminate genealogical and historical information. Meetings are held the third Monday of each month March through May and September through November at 7:30 p.m. at the Westminster Library, 50 E. Main Street, Westminster. Check the calendar for more specific information. The public is always welcome. The Society's collection is housed at the library as well and the information staff will direct researchers to it.  Online resources and links can be found at carr.org/ccgs

A quarterly newsletter, The Carrolltonian, is published in September, December, March and June of each year. The Society's special projects include copying cemetery inscriptions in Carroll County, gathering church and bible records and indexing materials valuable to researchers. CCGS volunteers will provide research assistance to anyone unable to visit Carroll County or use our research facility for an hourly fee plus postage and photocopying expenses.
