Campbellsville Baptist Church

420 North Central Avenue

Campbellsville Baptist Church has a long history of praying for, giving to, and being actively involved in mission work, whether local, state, national, or international. Some local efforts over the years have included literacy work, nursing home Bible study, jail ministry, backyard Bible clubs, and sponsoring international refugees. We have also welcomed missionaries on furlough as a part of our fellowship. Our Minister of Education, Larry Rowell, and his wife, Edwina, previously served as missionaries in West Africa. The church has been involved in establishing five local missions, all of which are now fully organized churches. In addition, we have helped establish two missions in Kenya and one in Korea; these are also still active. Former pastor, Dr. J. Chester Badgett, was appointed to the Foreign Mission Board (now the International Mission Board) in 1962. He served two terms, and was President of the Board the last two years.

Under the leadership of Dr. Jones, Campbellsville Baptist was one of the first churches in Kentucky to be designated as a Global Priority Church, due to its commitment to missions.
