110 Bailey Street
931-648-5630

Mission Statement:

Our mission is to create an environment that encourages students to reach their potential by providing opportunities for intellectual, physical, and social growth, as they become responsible citizens.

One of 18 elementary schools in the Clarksville-Montgomery School system, Burt School opened in 1952 as a segregated high school for African-American students. Burt remained a segregated high school until 1970, when it was changed to in integrated seventh grade facility. Since 1980, the population of Clarksville has rapidly increased, and Burt has served the school system as an overflow school to provide relief from overcrowding. Currently, Burt serves as the fourth and fifth grade campus for students in the St. Bethlehem Elementary School zone.
