Unique woodfired ceramic vessels and sculptures produced by a eclectic personality.  I am a advocate of the natural fly ash glazing technique applied by the traditional japanese anagama firing.  Most of my work was produced in a large kiln in York, Pa in a 14 day firing process.  My teachers were trained and worked under Peter Voulkos and so that style and tradition is evident in my work.  I however have traveled the world firing kilns up and down the east coast and spent several months firing many kilns in Australia.  Specifically I fired with Owen Rye, Janet Mansfield, and Robert Barren.  Much of my own work is of an intuitive nature and while I may start with an end goal the results are where my hands take me. It is through this ability to have a conversation with the clay and the glass, instead of dictating stiffly to said medium, that allows my work to have such natural motion.
