The mission of BROWACT is to provide an environment where citizens can work together to achieve fair and affordable property taxes. We believe that residences of equal value should be taxed equally, commercial properties of different values should be taxed differently, and the overall level of property taxation should be reduced to affordable levels. This means:
• Ending discrimination against seasonal and non-primary residents.
• Eliminating the tax penalty when moving to a new home.
• Taxing commercial properties according to their current use and not to the "highest and best" use.
• Reducing taxes and limiting future tax increases.
