Brief History of the Bristol Area Lions Club
The Bristol Area Lions Club was chartered in October of 1958. It was sponsored by the Damariscotta/Newcastle Lions Club.
In 1998 the Willing Workers Club was facing problems of an aging and declining membership. They decided to turn over the Willing Workers Hall to the Bristol Area Lions Club. In return they were guaranteed use of the hall as a meeting place and that the Lions Club would preserve the hall for the community.
Over the last several years the Lions club has worked to upgrade and modernize the facility to make it a more attractive rental hall and meeting place.
