History:

Bridgewater Presbyterian Church was founded June 10, 1878 in a setting of farms, a small town and a higher education facility.  We are now nestled in a neighborhood, and feel like a neighborhood church, yet our members come from a much larger geographic area.

We are Presbyterian and blessed because of that.  Our current membership is from all walks of life and ages from newborn to 96.  The church members work to be a vibrant community of the faithful, embracing various views of issues, but always seeking to be a light unto the community in which we live.  Civic leaders, professors, business owners, educational professionals from past to present have kept this congregation in tune with the everyday life patterns as well as deeper, more thoughtful concerns.  There is no one "label" that describes us, other than "Christ followers".  Our congregation is a member of the Presbyterian Church USA, residing in the Shenandoah Presbytery, and firmly rooted in this community.

We worship God on Sunday mornings with an up lifting music ministry, passionate liturgies, and sermons reflecting the Reformed Tradition of seeking God in His Word and expressing that message in the community of believers.
