Bramble Hollow Farm
At Bramble Hollow Farm, we'd love to be your local source for pastured poultry, pastured pork, and eggs from free ranging hens! We're located just east of the Blue Ridge in Montvale, Virginia, so we're convenient to Roanoke, Bedford and Smith Mountain Lake. On the farm we raise several breeds of chickens, heritage breed Plymouth Barred Rocks, Freedom Rangers, and Cornish Cross broiler. The Barred Rocks are a true heritage breed chicken, a wonderful breed that has an unbelievable flavor. The Freedom Ranger is a slow growing breed derived from European stock that has a more traditional, dark meat taste. The Cornish Cross broiler is a quick growing, large- breasted breed. Our chickens have 24-hour access to pasture with fresh green grass and juicy grubs.
A Meat CSA from Bramble Hollow Farm is a good option for you if you like the convenience of having healthy pastured meat at your fingertips but don't have the freezer space to purchase in bulk. By receiving a monthly share, you can enjoy a variety of healthy, clean meats throughout the farming season without having to make plans to visit the farm or farmer's market.
Each CSA subscriber chooses from the following shares. Your CSA share each month will be different and will include a sampling of all the products we have to offer over the six month including three breeds of chicken, pork chops, ribs, shoulder roasts, italian sausages, bratwursts, breakfast links, bacon,and eggs. During the six months you will receive every item listed in each category at least once, probably more than once. The CSA subscription period begins in May and ends in November. You may choose which six months during that seven month period to receive your shares (one month considered a vacation month during which you will not receive a share).
