Boyce Elementary School

119 West Main Street
540-955-6115

History:
The original Boyce Agricultural High School was a multistory brick building that was located on the north side of the old US Route 50. The school stood where the Boyce branch of The Bank of Clarke County is now located. One of the most distinguishing and memorable features of the old two-story school was a large, deep, steep, steel fire escape from the second story.

In the latter part of the 1930's the building was falling into disrepair and was finally condemned around 1939. After the building was condemned, the Boyce students were located in five different locations in or around the Boyce/Millwood area including: The Duck Pond, located west of the school on Route 723, Old Chapel (currently the FISH building), The Little Red School House in Millwood, The Parish Hall in Boyce, and the duplex on the south-west corner of Sharon Drive and West Main, Boyce.
