The Bovina United Presbyterian Church  Celebrated its 200th Anniversary in October of 2009. Bovina Settlers were meeting for prayer and worship as early as 1807 under the leadership of Dr. Alexander Bullions.  The overature to be organized occured in October of 1809 received and granted by the Presbytery at Cambridge NY.  Some of the church's first ministers came through the Scottish Missionary movement to America.

The church has maintained a strong sense of history while trying to adjust to the changes in society.  Our doors are open and we invite you stop in and worship with us.

Weekly worship is at 10:00 am, when we also have Sunday School  during the school year.

An afterschool program is held on Wednesdays at the church during Sept to June.

The Church reaches out to the community in a number of ways: through Worship and special services at Memorial Day in the Cemetary, Christmas Eve Children's Program and special worship services during Lent,  as well as services at the local Nursing Home, Christmas Caroling.  The church offers meeting space to the local senior citizens, who meet monthly, the second Monday of the month at 12 noon at the church for a dish to pass meal.

AA also meets Mondays at 7 pm at the church.

The church contributes to the local food banks and has been known for its "UGLY QUILTS" warm bedding made for  the homeless by Sr. Citizens.

In addition to this, church members provide opportunities for young people through "Surprise of Summer" (SOS) offering organized games on Wednesday Evenings in July. weather permitting.  An evening Vacation Bible School  is scheduled during the first week of August from 5-7 pm.

The Church contributes to Bovina Days; an annual community wide event held also in July.

Church members have provided a community newsletter as well as some great dinners: Chicken N Biscuit Dinner in March, Pancake Breakfast and Spaghetti dinners.

Please join us for Worship at 10:00 am.  The Sacrament of Communion is offered usually on the first Sunday of the Month; though there are exceptions.    In the months that have five Sundays, we join with other churches from Andes and Cabin Hill for Fifth Sunday Worship which is followed by a Pot Luck Dinner or Brunch at the church who hosts. The next Fifth Sunday Service is Janaury 30 at Andes  UMCChurch at 10 am.

Some say Bovina is one of the most scenic areas in New York State.  We think so! We know you will too when you  worship with us!

Russells General Store is across the street and offers an atmosphere that is set back in time.  Locally grown or produced items are available for purchase well as the latest news over a great cup of coffee and home made goodies, soup or sandwich.

Bovina offers a stellar library, core of dedicated volunteers for EMS and Fire Department, as well as the Bovina Museum maintianed by the Bovina Historical Association.
