T.C. Bobe started the store in 1954, Bobe's Hobby House in Brownsville on Mobile Highway.  In 1982, Terry Bobe moved the store to "W" Street where we stayed for 32 years.  Mike Bobe, the third generation in the store moved the business to the current location at the corner of Nine Mile Rd and Old Palafox, in the Ensley Square shopping center with Harbor Freight Tools.

Bobe's Hobby House is home to the Emerald Coast Gunpla Club (Gundam modelers, meets 1st Saturday each month at Noon) , The Panhandle Armor Modelers Society (Meets 3rd Saturday each month at 1PM), the Southern Air Craftsmen (Aircraft modelers, meets 4th Saturday at 1PM)
