Blue Ridge Center for Lifelong Learning

180 W. Campus Drive, Flat Rock, NC 28731
828-694-1740

The Blue Ridge Center for Lifelong Learning inspires its members to stay intellectually active by providing a wide variety of educational and cultural classes and activities.  Classes varying in length from two to 12 hours, usually in two hour meetings, are held on the campus of the Blue Ridge Community College (BRCC), or off-site. Class topics cover a variety of subject areas including the arts, science, history, and other topics of interest to our members. Included in these classes is the Great Decisions Lecture series from the Foreign Policy Association and World Affairs Council.

Tours of local industries and places of educational and cultural interest, such as one or two day trips to theaters and museums are also offered. The bulk of the Blue Ridge Center for Lifelong Learning's work is accomplished by volunteers who arrange for the classes and trips, compose the newsletter, maintain the website, determine the interests of the members and account for the finances. The Blue Ridge Center for Lifelong Learning community encourages its members to volunteer their skills and expertise to the program, because of our belief that volunteering provides a sense of ownership and every hand helps enrich our educational offerings. Any person having an interest in the mission and activities of this organization can become a lifetime member for a one-time $40 fee.
