Benjamin Franklin Middle School

501 Starr Avenue
707-556-8470

Benjamin Franklin Junior High School opened its doors to students the school year of 1944-45 when the country began its recovery following World War II. This was a rebuilding time for Vallejo, as its chief industry turned from wartime preparations to assistance toward maintaining a free and stable world. Franklin students participated in normal school activities while still being involved in efforts toward building a lasting peace throughout the world.

Today, Franklin has been reorganized as a Middle School and its students enjoy many of the same activities students participated in over 50 years ago. The Vallejo community at large has become one in which every member of its diverse community is welcomed to participate and celebrate his/her unique heritage. Franklin students represent a mosaic of students who are African-American, Hispanic, Filipino, Caucasian, Asian, Native American, and Pacific Islander.
