The Bargersville Community Fire Department is located in Central Indiana 15 miles south of Indianapolis. The department is a 40 member combination fire department. 7 career firefighters and 35 volunteer/paid stand-by firefighters protect a rapidly growing suburban/rural community of 14,000 people. The department makes an average of 650 runs per year with the numbers projected to increase rapidly as the area grows.

The department operates 2 Engines, 1 Aerial Ladder, 2 Paramedic Rescues, 2 Tankers and 1 Grass Fire Truck from one station with a second under construction. The department provides Code Enforcement, Public Education and Fire Investigative services.

History:

The Bargersville Fire Department was started with the creation of the Bargersville Men's Club in the years of 1941-1942. Dues where $10 a year. The club originally met at a gun range across from Umbargers & Sons grain elevator on Old Plank Road. The name was soon changed to the Bargersville Community Association. In 1954 The association became Bargersville Fire Department Incorporated. We continue to seek out any historical facts concerning the department from the general public.
