Backyard Urban Garden (B.U.G.) Farm
This is not your average farm! Backyard Urban Garden (B.U.G.) Farms aims to grow and direct market local, fresh, healthy, and happy food to people in the Salt Lake City, Utah community utilizing urban spaces that would otherwise go unused and unappreciated. Beginning in the Spring of 2010, Sharon Leopardi, BUG Farmer, removed sod, added compost, and started growing food on a collection of backyards.

B.U.G. Farms is located throughout the city on a collection of yards, and one community garden space. We grow food in a sustainable, chemical free way utilizing SPIN farming techniques which include intensive relay cropping, and standard sized beds. We choose only heirloom, open-pollinated varieties of fruits and vegetables that have fantastic taste, interesting history, and do well in out 4-season mountain climate.

-Season Length: About 25 weeks from the 2nd or 3rd week of May until the last week of October, depending on the weather.

-Method of Distribution: We will deliver your veggies to your home/office if it is within our delivery range, to see a map of our current delivery range click here. We are open to adding new delivery areas as long as there is enough customers in that area, so please contact us if you are currently out of range, we cn see if there is enough interest in you area to make it a delivery route. Otherwise there will be a couple of pick up locations for those out of range.

-Distribution Day/Frequency: CSA Full Shares will be delivered weekly and Half Shares delivered bi-weekly on Thursdays, and most pick-ups will be available Thursdays, unless you pick up at a Farmers Market, which will be available when that market is happening at our booth.
