The Mission of the Ashland Fire Department is to be a Community Leader in Life Safety and Property Preservation through Dedication, Training, and Education.

The Ashland Fire Department provides emergency fire, medical, and rescue services to the City of Ashland, Montgomery, and Milton Townships in Ashland County, Ohio; totaling approximately 62 square miles. The department is currently made up of 35 career firefighters and one Administrative Secretary. The department operates out of one centralized fire station, located at 274 Cleveland Ave. The department operates three shifts on a 24 hours on 48 hours off rotation. The department's minimum staffing is six personnel. Each shift is overseen by an Assistant Chief and Captain. In addition to our shift personnel we have three Administrative Captains that oversee Fire Prevention, EMS, and Training. In 2014 the department ran 3713 alarms, 83% of these were medical related, while 17% were fire/rescue related alarms.
