About Us:

Arcana has been growing the finest, healthiest organic plants in our greenhouses for 22 years. Our founder, Anne Mueller, was a pioneer in organic greenhouse management when she graduated from the University of Vermont. After being told that it was impossible to manage a greenhouse organically, Anne was determined to make it work.  Her dedication to health and quality, and her love of varietal diversity have guided Arcana’s nursery collection to boast some of the greatest selection in organic plants for gardeners in the region. Today, people come from all over New England for our annual vegetable and flower seedlings, our extensive medicinal and culinary herb collection, and our expansive perennial nursery.

Our nursery grows hundreds of varieties of perennials, native plants, tomato and pepper starts, medicinal and culinary herbs, annual flowers, and vegetable starts. We also grow a wide selection of farm-fresh veggies, which are available through our wonderful CSA and at Burlington and Stowe Farmers’ Markets. Our farm in Jericho is stitched with a variety of gardens, hosting crucial pollinator and habitat plants as well as flowers for every season.

Our nursery plants are GMO free, untreated, certified organic and grown with love!  We grow directly from seed as much as possible in locally blended soil mixes, and seek to be a destination for the ecological gardener and hobby gardener alike.
