The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy, and service. ACS offers many programs to cancer patients, survivors, and family members.

There are 2 team walk fundraisers ACS holds each year in Rockford and surrounding areas.  In October is the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, (Oct.15 in Martin Park)  and also Relay For Life in June, (June 22/23 at Rockford Christian High School.)
