The Amelia County Christmas Mothers/Fathers Committee serves over 300 children in need in Amelia County. Toys, books, gloves, scarves, stocking stuffers, etc. are distributed in December of each year. The program is operated through cash donations (100% is used to purchase items for the children and elderly - there are no administation costs). Toy collection boxes are located throughout the county in November for toy collection, while knitters and crocheters in the county make hats and scarves all year long. The program works throughout the year purchasing toys and other items for distribution, donations are appreciated at any time. The Christmas Mothers/Fathers Program is a public service project of The Amelia Bulletin Monitor operated by a team of former Christmas Mothers and Fathers and community volunteers.
