School Info:

Alan Shepard is one of North Scott's five elementary schools with an enrollment of approximately 300 students. We have been a leader in the state in having acquired North Central Association (NCA) accreditation for our school and in helping others to do so. Alan Shepard received the First in the Nation in Education (F.I.N.E) Award presented by the Governor of Iowa in 1992-93 for "Heritage Comes Alive".We work with students from pre-kindergarten through the sixth grade. The school was named in honor of Alan Shepard, one of our nation's first astronauts. It was first occupied in the fall of 1967.
