A. S. Rhodes Elementary School

224 W. Strasburg Rd.
540-635-4556

Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment in which all children will achieve and learn.

A.S. Rhodes was opened for the first time for the school year 1936-1937.  There were only four classrooms then for grades one through seven.  At that time it was a very modern building.  When the school opened the new bridges had not been built across the Shenandoah River.  A.S.Rhodes remained four rooms until the school year of 1951-1952.  Two wings were added to the school to increase classrooms to twelve. Now the school has 12 classrooms, a library, computer lab, and cafeteria.  In 1999 a multi-purpose building was built for our physical education classes and a place to have school programs. The downstairs area has been remodeled into three classroom; two classes for resource and one for art.

The mission of Warren County Public Schools is to provide a quality educational opportunity for every student to achieve their highest academic learning potential, develop positive core values reflective of our community, and enter higher education and the workforce.  We will strive to deliver an educational program respected statewide through the commitment and expertise of qualified school administrators, teachers, and school staff.  We will provide required instructional resources and current technology.  We will seek to achieve this mission through community support, active parental involvement, and business partnerships.
