We have been noticing a lot of people registering their children for programs and then not attending the programs they're signed up for. We'd like to take this opportunity to remind people to please ensure you are only signing up for programs that you can come to! If you end up not being able to attend, please call us at 860-285-1914 or e-mail us at [email protected] so that we can take you off the list.

When you register for a program and fail to show up, the spot is taken away from kids who would attend otherwise. We often have to turn away children for programs because we are anticipating those on our list to show up. Please keep others in your community in mind when registering for programs and failing to show up for them

We know that because the programs are free to you it is tempting to register for a program regardless of whether or not you know you can attend. While programs are free to you all (and we love that they are), please know that these programs come at a high cost to us. Free to you means expensive for us! Because our attendees don't pay, this means we have to absorb any and all costs. Most of the time we pay out $10+ per child per program for many of our bigger programs.

Our programs are NOT funded by tax dollars or town money. All programs are funded by the generosity of the Windsor Library Association. Without them, we would have no programs! This money is all fundraised and donor based which means it is a limited and set resource for us. When we spend money on programs and kids who are registered do not show up, we waste a lot of money that could be otherwise spent on other programs or for other children to attend.

Please, if you can no longer attend a program, don't hesitate to reach out! We don't mind at all if you give us a call and let us know you can't attend, even day of. This allows us to surrender your spot to the next child in line. If you are unsure if you can attend, please do not register until you are sure you can. While we understand this means you could miss your opportunity to register, chances are we're doing something just as educational, fun, and cool on a day that you are available.
