Wilmington Memorial Library - Let's Bring the Trophy Back to Wilmington

Schools and Libraries

September 27, 2023

From: Wilmington Memorial Library

Help us out-read Tewksbury Public Library and bring The Reading Cup back to Wilmington in our third-annual "Reading Rivals" competition! The rules are simple--whichever library logs the most minutes wins. Books, audiobooks, magazines, newspapers, and graphic novels all count!

This year's competition runs from October 1 through November 22, so be sure to log your reading and help us climb our way to the top of the leaderboard! The winning library will receive bragging rights and custody of The Reading Cup until our next competition in 2024!

Each library will also have their own weekly prize drawings for our participating patrons. Here in Wilmington, the weekly prizes are $20 gift cards to local restaurants! Log at least 5 hours of reading for a chance at our $50 adult prize and $50 youth prize to the Wilmington business of your choice! For 10 hours of reading, get entered into our $100 grand prize raffle for all ages!

We've also set a community goal of 2,000,000 minutes, which sounds like a lot! (That's 33,333 hours!) But we're not worried, we read 1.3 million minutes during Reading Rivals last year. Two million is a piece of cake.

You can log your minutes each week digitally on Beanstack or by picking up a paper log and returning it to the library as often as possible so we can log your minutes for you! Let's do this, Wilmington!
