This newsletter contains information about happenings in the Children's Library, Young Adult (YA) Space and let's you know of upcoming Children, Family, Parent and Teen programs and events. This is a bi-weekly newsletter. If you want to see all of the programs and events happening for the month, please go to our Calendar where you can view all of the events at once and register online. Summer Library Adventures is almost over!
What is Summer Library Adventures?
It's what we here at the library call our reading challenge and programming that takes place throughout the summer. This year, our program is Summer Library Adventures: Read, Do, Go! And our theme is "Read Beyond the Beaten Path." The program runs from June 15th through August 11th.
When do Summer Library Adventures Programs end?
Our final programs will end on August 11th.
Will there be more programs in August to take part in?
Yes! There are other programs you can register for in August that are not part of Summer Library Adventures, just check out our calendar here.
When does the Summer Reading Challenge End?
If you are participating in the Summer Reading Challenge there are 2 dates that are very important for you. August 10th at 11:59 PM is the last time that you can log your reading for this challenge. August 18th by 5pm is when you have until to redeem any of your current prizes from the program before they are no longer available for pickup.

Due to the weather reports, we have had to move this event indoors and change the time. Join us for snacks, games, crafts and giveaways. Pick up your final summer reading challenge prizes too!
Melty Mondays
Mondays, August 15, 22 & 29 from 3:30-5:00PM
Ages 5+.
Registration required separately for each session.
Come in and create awonderfully unique Perler Bead creation. Projects must be completed by 4:45 in order to be ironed and taken home the same day.?
Bubble Party
Tuesday, August 16th at 4:00 PM
All ages. Registration Required Here.
Join us as we show you how to make your own homemade bubble solution and bubble wands. If the weather is nice, we will then test out our solution and wands outside for a bubble party!
Craft and Create
Wednesdays, August 17, 24 & 31 @ 6:30 PM.
Ages 5+. Registration required separately for each session.
Join Miss Laura on Wednesday nights for a themed craft. Let's see what you create!?
Storytime with Miss Laura
Saturdays, August 20 & 27 @ 12:30 PM
All ages. Registration required separately for each session.
We invite children of all ages and their caregivers to join us for stories, songs and a small activity.
Where's Waldo Scavenger Hunt
Tuesday, August 23 @ 4:00 PM. All Ages.
Registration required Here.
Join us and help find Waldo! This event is a scavenger hunt in which you are trying to find images in and around the library of the popular character Waldo from the Where's Waldo series.
Back-to-School Storytime
Thursday, August 25 @ 11:00 AM. All Ages.
Registration required Here.
Join Miss Laura for a back-to-school storytime filled with stories, songs and a small craft.
Sip and Color
Tuesday, August 30 @ 4:00 PM. Ages 3+.
Registration required Here.
Join us in our kids version of "Paint and Sip." Here, kids will get to choose what crafts they would like to color and enjoy some snacks with us.

Cooks & Books with Sticky Fingers Cooking
Food inspired by Where the Wild Things Are
Monday, September 12 @ 6:00 PM via ZOOM.
All Ages. Registration required here.
Join us for a cooking lesson inspired by the book Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. Hosted by Sticky Fingers cooking, you will learn how to make Mischievous Red Pepper Goulash, Wild Rumpus Buttered Noodles and Ice Cream in a Bag. Ingredients are not provided by the library. Ingredient list will be provided before the program.

Talk all things Pokemon, trade and battle cards, watch movies and even win Pokemon cards during Pokemon Bingo! You are welsome to bring a device to play Pokemon Go and if the weather is nice you can walk around the library lawn and hit 5 Pokestops!

Teen Advisory Board (TAB) Meeting
Thursday, September 29 @ 3:00 PM.
Middle and High School students ages 12+. Registration required. Application required.
Those in middle and high school that are interested in having a larger voice at the library can join our teen advisory board. Here we discuss upcoming teen programs, volunteer opportunities and community service. If you are interested in joining you can attend this meeting to pick up an applicatoin and ask questions or email [email protected].
Fandom Friday
Friday, September 30 @ 3:00 PM. Ages 12+.
Middle and High School students are invited to come and hang out during our monthly Fandom Friday programs. Whether you love Star Wars, Marvel, D.C., Dungeons and Dragons, WarHammer, Stranger Things, or something else, this is a place for you to meet with your friends and fellow fandom members to share and enjoy. *We do not provide specific items for this program as we ask our participants to bring what they would like to share, but can bring out games/materials upon request.
