From: Wellfleet Preservation Hall

Greetings!

Happy New Year!

This new year starts with a season of change at the Hall. Today, I am delighted to introduce you to my good friend and our new Executive Director, Kathy Fletcher.

Most recently Kathy has been the Executive Director of Silkroad and
the Grammy Award winning Silkroad Ensemble, founded by Cellist Yo-Yo Ma.
She previously held roles as the Director of Creative Leadership Initiatives at the John F.
Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and was a Co-Founder of Turnaround Arts under First Lady Michelle Obama. Under Kathy's leadership, Turnaround Arts transitioned from the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities to the Kennedy Center and grew from a pilot project involving eight schools to over 80 schools. Kathy brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and resources in employing art and culture to create change and build community. Kathy lives in Wellfleet with her husband David. She will be starting here on January 17. Please be sure to stop by and say hello.

In other news, our amazing Managing Director, Vanessa Downing, is stepping away to pursue her film dreams in Provincetown. Vanessa will soon be the new Managing Director at the Provincetown Film Society. This is an amazing opportunity for the woman that created all of the film programming at the Hall from the ground up and has made virtually everything that has happened at the Hall over the last eleven years...happen. Thank You Thank You Thank You Vanessa! We can't wait to see what you will make happen next!

Kathy and Emily will soon be joined by a few new faces...and amidst all of this change, we have lots of great things happening at the Hall in the next few weeks. Scroll down and check out what's coming up...then visit our website for more!

With warm regards,

Janet
Janet Lesniak, Executive Director (here till Kathy starts in a few weeks..)

You can purchase a Taste of Wellfleet Community Cookbook at the Hall, online or from a few of our friends...
