Make Your Own Art Bear! Family Art Workshop
Hosted by Friends of Weir Farm
Saturday June 24, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm 
The Friends of Weir Farm Art Bears Exhibit includes the work of former Artist-in-Residence Alissa Siegal, the instructor for this fun class perfect for families or individuals! Students will sketch a Weir Farm scene, then be given their own mini art bears to decorate - just like the 8 artists featured in the outdoor exhibit! Please note parents/guardians must remain in the park while the child is participating - no drop offs.Register by calling 203-834-1896 x 28.

Exploring Stone Walls Tour
Saturday July 1, 9:30 to 10:15 am
Join Ranger Tom on a stroll through the fields of Weir Farm to examine the three different types of stone walls on the property and learn about their rich history.

Forest Bathing Wellness Walk
Saturday, July 8, 9:30 to 10:30 am
Certified Forest Therapy Guide, Jennifer Salkin, will be leading a slow-paced Shinrin Yoku hike. Shinrin Yoku, also called Forest Bathing, is a way to experience the natural world with attention to sense perceptions, and has many health benefits. Register by calling 203-834-1896 x 28.

Trail Maintenance Volunteer Event
Sunday July 23, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Sign up to volunteer for this special trail restoration event! Volunteers ages 10 and up will restore a section of trail by clearing brush and laying woodchips. Join your local national park in an effort to improve park resources! Register by calling 203-834-1896 x 28.

Artists' Garden Tour
Friday, July 28, 9:30 to 10:15 am
Stroll through the stunning historic gardens on this guided tour with Ranger Amanda that highlights the beauty and history that inspired generations of artists.

Art-Nature Journaling Workshop with Leslie Carone
Saturday July 29 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
In this beginner-friendly, mixed-media course, you'll learn how to look closely and creatively document the natural world around you by creating your own art-nature journal. All supplies provided. This workshop is ideal for teens and adults, and open to ages 8 and up. Please note parents/guardians must remain in the park while the child is participating - no drop offs. Please note that we have limited parking, and groups arriving in more than 2 cars requires a reservation by calling 203-834-1896 ext 11. Carpooling is encouraged. Parking is first-come, first-served.

Connecticut Historic Gardens Day
Hosted by Friends of Weir Farm
Sunday, June 25, 12:00 to 4:00 pm

Stop by for short informal talks with expert Garden Crew Volunteers, plant some seeds to take home, learn about pollinators and poison ivy, and participate in fun activities at the Friends of Weir Farm tent! No registration required – just stop by and smell the flowers!

Weir Farm Artists Collective

Thursday July 20 from 10:00 to 11:30 am
The Park is offering an opportunity for local artists to connect and share during monthly gatherings, led by artists, for artists - facilitated by artists Leslie Carone and Bobbi Eike Mullen. Come by for coffee and refreshments, discussion with your peers, and feel free to bring a work of Weir Farm art to share with the group. The Weir Farm Artist Collective is a collaboration of independent artists following the tradition of creativity within the Weir Farm landscape. Its purpose is to inform, support, encourage and engage accomplished artists of all mediums to share ideas, opportunities and technical solutions. No registration required. Learn more here!
