July 8

Beer Garden Opens: 7:00pm

Opening Act: 7:15pm

Start Making Sense: 8:45pm (Following the MIFF Opening Night Film)

If David Byrne is one of the geniuses of modern times, then Start Making Sense is a tribute to genius. The musicians in this 7-10 piece Talking Heads Tribute take pride in faithfully recreating the music of Talking Heads entire career. Together they bring much of the Heads unique live show to the stage, with front man Jon Braun as a spot-on David Byrne, giving you a “once in a lifetime” experience. Prepare yourself for a rockin’, funkin’, danceable celebration of the new-wave art punk you loved from the 80’s!!!

Opening Act: Lee Ross
Lee Ross is an internationally touring one-man party band from Boston, MA. Using saxophone, keyboards, and flute he live-loops all sorts of funk and reggae dance music sounds to create a wild musical experience. It’s a dance party for everyone’s universe! In addition to solo shows, he has played saxophone on stage with many notable artists including George Clinton, Guster, State Radio, G. Love & Special Sauce, Lespecial, Twiddle, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Neighbor, and many others.

This concert will also serve as the Opening Night Party for the Maine International Film Festival.
