From: Urbanite TheatreA Note from Leadership
In studying the histories of literary and theatrical storytelling, one could easily contend that the most powerful inspiration for compelling drama has been the family unit. From Hamlet to Pride and Prejudice, All My Sons to Little Women, writers have grappled with the complexities of interpersonal family dynamics for centuries. In our stunning ninth season of new plays, we've found four vital contemporary voices also drawing their stories from the complex bonds of blood relatives.
With arrogant sibling rivalries, heartrending parental divides and even an evil grandfather, all four main series productions will find comedy, heartbreak, triumph and intrigue in family affairs. This riveting collection of works by award-winning playwrights have cross-generational appeal, incredible theatrical variety, and most importantly, will be exactly the type of thought-provoking, conversation-starting experiences you've grown to love at Urbanite Theatre.
We hope you enjoy Season 9: HEREDITY.
