Adult Programming

Knit Toy with the Stitching Coach Saturday, January 7th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Learn to knit an adorable Jackalope and a new technique for knitting legs two-at-a-time. Once you learn to make your mythical plush pal, patrons will be ready to cast on socks, mittens and sleeves two-at-a-time. Join us. 
ReDefining Work & Worth: A Five Part Group Coaching Series Tuesday, January 10th from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Join Alexa, Workplace Mindfulness & Success Leader, with over a decade of experience in corporate & entrepreneurial business, on a five-part journey to come closer to YOUR definition of WORK and WORTH in the areas of leadership, success and wellness. Walk away with tools to implement into your work and life and redefine your way of doing things. Space is limited. Registration required.
Women and Money Roundtable: How to Make Sense of Today's Financial Markets Wednesday, January 11th from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The Women and Money Roundtable is a monthly financial literacy program designed to educate women of any age about the financial matters that affect their lives. Adult Fiction Book Club Thursday, January 12th from 10 a.m.to 11 a.m. The Adult Fiction Book Club is back! Join us as we read and discuss Something in the Water by Catherine Steadman in person at the Trumbull Library. We have a limited amount of copies of this month's book available for check out at the main branch. Register here
Fiction Writing Fusion Thursday, January 19th from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. In this new cross-genre Fiction Writing Fusion program, we will spark imaginations through a variety of nonfiction sources (poetry, greeting cards, news items) to create characters, emotion and action in writing fiction stories.  Author and fiction writing teacher, Kim Kovach, inspires participants with fun, fresh ideas to write new Fiction Writing Fusion stories each week in this 8-week session via Zoom. Registration required.

Children and Family Programming

Birds & Seeds: How to Feed Your Feathered Neighbors Wednesday, January 11th from 5:15 p.m. to 6 p.m. In this presentation, local artisan Theresa Dunlop will talk about some of CT's most common backyard birds, and the best ways to attract them to your yard. Then, at the end of the program, participants will get to make their own DIY bird feeders. This program is for all ages. Supplies for the bird feeders are limited so registration is required for the craft; drop ins are welcome for the lecture. Join us.

Children's Storytime

Toddler Time for 2’s and 3’s Monday, January 9th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Join Ms. Chelsie in person for great stories, songs, and dances. Ages 2-3. To accommodate COVID guidelines, we will limit the number of participants each week. To ensure all families have a chance to try and attend this program, you must register every week.
Baby Time Tuesday, January 10th from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Ages birth to 2. Meet in-person at the library for story time! Listen to a story, sing songs, and perform finger plays. Registration is not required.

Preschool Story Time Thursday, January 12th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Ages 3-5. Join Miss Katie at the library for storytime! Listen to stories, sing songs, and complete a simple craft. Registration is not required.

Fairchild-Nichols Programming

Fairchild D & D Club Wednesday, January 11th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Make new friends and take part in exciting adventures! Never played before? No problem! No prior experience with D&D is required and all the materials will be provided. Bring your own character or use one of our pre-made characters. Open to ages 12 and up. Registration is required.
Fairchild: Music with Tom Weber Thursday, January 12th from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Join us for a fun morning with Tom Weber! Tom’s performances are filled with interactive movement, props, singing, dancing, and lots of energy. His repertoire includes original songs as well as traditional favorites. Tom’s music is intended to get children moving, singing, feeling confident, and having fun! Registration required, all ages.
Fairchild: Third Age Book Club Tuesday, January 17th from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The Third Age Book Club is for seniors who love to read and want to discuss great books with other members of the community. If you are interested in joining in, please email: [email protected]
