Sherborn Library Reopening

After prolonged construction delays, we are increasingly confident the fully renovated Sherborn Library will be opened to the public in early 2023.

Activities to Reopen
On December 15th we received a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy from the Sherborn Building Commissioner and can start the process of moving furniture and books back into the
building. During the moving process, the current library facilities will be unavailable to the public. Once the moving process is complete, the renovated Library will be reopened to the
public. An official Ribbon Cutting ceremony will be held in the near future and a re-opening celebration event for the Sherborn residents later in 2023.

Updates on reopening dates and activities will be posted and communicated through sherbornlibrary.org and other social media sites.

How to Learn More about the Library Construction Project
Information on the Library Construction project is posted on the Sherborn Library website Sherborn Library Renovation News.

Due to the ongoing litigation between the town, the building contractor, the bond surety company and others, we are required to keep some details on the construction project confidential. The Sherborn Select Board continues to actively pursue the Town of Sherborn’s rights and remedies.

Specific questions can be sent to: [email protected]. Depending on the questions, some might not be able to be addressed.

Both the Library Trustees and the Library Building Committee meet monthly in open public meetings. The dates, times and location of these meetings are posted on the Town of Sherborn website: https://www.sherbornma.org/calendar. Citizens are invited to attend these meetings to learn more about the construction work and ask questions.

We are looking forward to opening our doors to the newly renovated library and continued service to the community!
