Norfolk Receives Development Grant for Housing  

The town has received a development grant to purchase land and install infrastructure to support 10 affordable housing units off Old Colony Road. And, in more good news, the Fire Department has its new tanker truck safely housed in its Shepard Road firehouse.

$2.5 Million Grant Received for Affordable Housing 

The Foundation for Norfolk Living (FNL) is seeing the first tangible fruits of its years-long effort to build 10 affordable homes at Haystack Woods off Old Colony Road. FNL President Kate Johnson reports that this fall the town received a Community Development Block Grant of just less than $2.5 million for site acquisition and preparation. FNL is a sub-recipient of the funds.
The town selected low-bidder Guerrera Construction Co. of Oxford, a firm the town has worked with successfully in the past, to do the work. Read more

New Fire Truck Safely Home 

Three Norfolk volunteer firefighters pulled into the firehouse yard December 23 with a brand-new 3,000-gallon tanker to replace a 24-year-old vehicle that leaked for years.
The men drove 22 hours after leaving Luverne, Minn., taking the wheel in shifts to stay ahead of the storm that pounded the Midwest last week. Read more

Taikoza Closes Out Library's Performances for 2022 

Close the year tonight (Friday) at 4:00 p.m. with the sounds of Taikoza. This group draws from Japan’s rich tradition of music and performance to create a highly visual performance with colorful traditional costumes and dynamic motion. No registration required. Read more

Holiday Hours at Transfer Station 

The Transfer Station will be open Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and is closed on January 1 and  2. It reopens January 3.

Learn to Curl Session January 7 

The Norfolk Curling Club invites everyone to Learn to Curl in one-and-a-half to two-hour clinics held at the club's headquarters at 70 Golf Drive. The next session is January 7, at 4:00 p.m. Read more

Norfolk Hub to Host Blood Pressure Clinics  

Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Litchfield County will hold free blood pressure clinics at the Norfolk Hub on the fourth Wednesday of every other month, starting January 25. Read more
