Restaurant Week Starts 10/17

Our Economic Development Department and Commission have finalized plans for this year’s Restaurant Week, scheduled for October 17–23.  A list of the 24 participating restaurants and their Restaurant Week Specials are available at this  link and on the Business page of the Town’s website.

Road Work

A few projects to be aware of that impact heavily travelled roads in Town :

Purdy Hill Road - Aquarion will be working to extend a water main in the area between Monroe Turnpike to Greenlawn Rd. Work is scheduled to start this week and continue for approximately three weeks.

Pepper St. Project - The first course of pavement was completed in the area between Commerce Drive and Cambridge Drive. Work continues to progress for installation of new drainage infrastructure and is ongoing. Preparations were completed in anticipation of the new traffic signal at Main Street; the project team is working with CT-DOT on a final schedule for installation. Construction for the relocation of a segment of the multiuse trail has also begun. All work will continue during the upcoming weeks.

Shelton Rd (Route 110) - The State Department of Transportation has advised that they will be resurfacing Route 110, from the Shelton town line to Moose Hill Road. The tentative schedule is for milling work from October 19-21, and paving from October 31 – November 4.

All of the work schedules are subject to adjustment, particularly in the event of inclement weather.  Expect periods of alternating, one-lane traffic in all the work zones.
