East Hartford, CT - East Hartford Greater Together Community Fund Advisory Committee is now accepting applications for committee members.

In 2019, the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving established an initial $100,000 community fund for each of the 29 towns in the Foundation's geographic region, which includes East Hartford. During East Hartford’s inaugural grant-making process, the committee was able to fund six non-profit organizations to support our community in the amount of $17,500. The committee is anxious to begin their next round of grant-making but need additional voices!

The purpose of the Greater Together Community Fund is to support the East Hartford community in taking ownership around the needs in their town that will be most beneficial or have the greatest impact on town residents. The Community Fund also strives to encourage broad and inclusive civic engagement, as well as to anchor the Hartford Foundation in each town.

The current committee is looking forward to welcoming new members. Diversity and the inclusion of different voices on the Advisory Committee is our top goal, to choose members that fully represent the East Hartford Community. To be eligible, you must be a resident of East Hartford, at least 14 years of age and not a current elected official of East Hartford. Previous experience in community organizations or in grant-making is not needed.

Individuals who are interested in applying can visit the hfpg.org/easthartfordcf to find more information or to fill out the Google Form.

The deadline for applications is April 28, 2023. After the application period is closed, the committee will schedule interviews for potential members.
