Town Of Brookfield Spotlight - July 2022

Government and Politics

July 4, 2022

From: Town of Brookfield

Congratulations to the class of 2022! Should you have a loved one who graduated from high school or college or any family weddings or new babies, or any other milestone, my heartfelt felicitations!

I would like to recognize Brookfield High School Seniors and recent 2022 graduates, Alexa Dattner, Maahi Dhote, Shruti Kelkar and Jackson Sharpe for their efforts this past school year assisting the town on the Sustainability CT team and the requirements for certification. Their mission - to create a more sustainable community by promoting equitable action, inclusivity, and eco-friendly practices.

I'm quite proud of four BHS class of 2022 graduates who'll be joining our Armed Forces this Summer. Brookfield has one new Marine, two new Army Soldiers, and one Air Force Cadet. Although I don't know these fine individuals, I'm extremely proud of their commitment to service and wish them much success and godspeed as they embark on their military journey.

While June proved to be very busy, July will be equally so. I hope now that Summer is here that we we'll enjoy some Summer weather! As a reminder, both our Concerts at the Park and Farmers Market started again, so please come by and enjoy what our lovely town has to offer.

I'm happy to announce our shadow box “Honor Wall” as a permanent fixture in our Town Hall lobby. I'll soon announce a date to unveil and recognize the service of Brookfield residents who currently serve, as well as those who we now honor as Veterans. If you have a picture that you'd like displayed of a loved one who is a Brookfield resident currently serving in our Armed Forces, please let us know. Thank you.

Have a healthy, happy and safe Summer!

Yours in Service,
Tara Carr
First Selectman
