"Of all the places I’ve made work in recent years, from northern California to Maine to the Isle of Man, Nantucket is the one I’d most like to return to. Small as it may be, it contains a whole country’s worth of landscapes, from beaches to coastal forests to Serengeti-like grasslands. And due to its location out there in the Atlantic, it offers the two most important elements in my work—wind and unobstructed natural light—in limitless supply. I spent just two weeks on the island for my White Elephant AIR, but thanks to the island’s miraculous beauty and environmental diversity, I made what feels like a year’s worth of work”

Thanks to the residency offered by the White Elephant Nantucket, Jackson was able to experiment with a variety of fabrics and installation sites. This body of works speaks to stunning collaboration that Jackson's practice facilitates between the natural environment and his sculptural compositions.
