STEM Teacher Training – The GCS STEM Department has partnered with UNCG Serve and Core Technology to train STEM professionals. On Saturday, they’ll host a training event at Core Technology at Gateway Research Park to help STEM Teacher leaders learn more about the engineering design process and tour the Core Technology facility, which will become a resource hub for STEM teachers across the district. This event is from 9:00 am to noon.

Native American Heritage Month Demonstration- GCS has Native students from 30+ Tribes and Nations! Throughout the month, students will learn about different aspects of Native culture. Reedy Fork Elementary will host an assembly featuring GCS American Indian Education Coordinator Stephen Bell and local powwow dancers. The event begins at 9:00 am.
Tuesday, November 22

Allen Jay and Alderman Elementary will host an assembly featuring GCS American Indian Education Coordinator Stephen Bell and local powwow dancers. The event at Allen Jay begins at 8:00 am. The event at Alderman begins at 10:15 am.
Thanksgiving Meal – Dr. Whitney Oakley will join her son and students at Jesse Wharton and Claxton Elementary school for a pre-thanksgiving lunch. Lunch begins at noon
