SCENES FROM LAKE STREET DIVE

The Umbrella community enjoyed two days of incredible music from Boston-bred chart-toppers, Lake Street Dive, on June 9 and 10.

In one of our fastest-selling concerts ever, the alternative soul/rock group brought the audience to its feet with the first number and kept us dancing right through to the encore! The concert was preceded by a festive outdoor reception that also featured music by the young musical duo, Charley with Jake Baynes.

The previous day, Lake Street Dive generously shared their experience with several young regional music students during a masterclass (below) at The Umbrella, moderated by Berklee College of Music professor David Scott. The bandmates related their journey from meeting as teenagers at New England Conservatory through their Internet breakthrough to the top of multiple Billboard charts.

The show was part of The Umbrella Concert Series, proceeds of which support programs at The Umbrella.
