29 Bay Area artists exhibit over 60 artworks made from previously discarded materials

EXTENDED THROUGH SEPTEMBER 8, 2022 at the Randall Museum in San Francisco

San Francisco, CA - The Randall Museum and SCRAP are happy to announce the current exhibit ReImagine: The Art of Sustainable Thinking has been extended through September 8, 2022. ReImagine: The Art of Sustainable Thinking is a group show featuring a selection of over 60 pieces from 29 Bay Area artists, curated by Burning Man’s archivist Ladybee (Christine Kristen). The exhibition presents artists who use repurposed materials in their work and explore the infinite possibilities of creating something new out of something that was previously discarded.

????ReImagine: The Art of Sustainable Thinking is on display NOW through September 8, 2022 at the Randall Museum, 199 Museum Way, San Francisco, during regular hours, 10am – 5pm, Tuesdays – Saturday. Admission is free. For public information and details on current Covid protocols visit www.randallmuseum.org or call 415-554-9600.

Designed for all ages, the exhibition allows visitors to discover how local artists are keeping materials out of landfills by transforming it into art. "The exhibition continues to inspire curiosity about what happens to the things we throw away and encourages creative reuse through artistic expression,” said Tiffany Loewenberg, Randall Museum Friends’ executive director. "We are raising awareness of upcycling and the environmental impact of our choices with beautiful results. Visitors can try their hand at being environmental artists by crafting a simple assemblage in the lobby without making any waste."

“There is a wonderful buzz around this show. It's about what happens when unleashed creativity meets love of the environment. The work is fun, beautiful and incredibly imaginative - sculptures made from pennies, portraits painted on bubble wrap, dresses made from old tires,“ explains Terry Kochanski, SCRAP executive director.

Randall Museum and SCRAP are two long-standing Bay Area community non-profits that share art, environment and education as core values to their missions.
