Learn to sing with friends and boost your confidence on the stage! All skill levels are welcome, and you'll have a chance to shine at TNAS’s end of semester performance!

Opening Reception This Saturday, September 30, from 6 - 8pm

“Being is a constant, creative act.” That’s how artist Carlos RM describe the newest exhibition at The Norwalk Art Space, “A Journey Through the Planes of Being.” This exhibition takes audience members through the phases of being—from the big questions we all have to how our state of being compels us to become artists, creatives and more.

This exhibition features artist Carlos RM, who is a Korry Fellow at TNAS, as well as three contributing artists: Jon Blank, a native Norwalker currently in Brooklyn, Alex Rane from Carrara, Italy; and Diana R. of Miami, Florida. The opening reception will feature a performance from the East Coast Contemporary Ballet at 7pm, along with performances from INTEMPO, a partner of TNAS, throughout the night.

“We invite you to join our journeys,” wrote Carlos RM with contributing writer Meg Reilly. “As you view the show, perhaps you’ll ponder abstract riddles and recognize snapshots of dreams, snippets, or recollections of a distant time. And when you return to a piece you’ve experienced, you may see it anew and reflect on your journey through your own plane of being as a never-ending source of discovery, curiosity, inspiration, and wonder.”

Artist Talk This Sunday, October 1, from 3 - 4:30pm

There will be multiple community events held as part of the exhibition, starting with an Artist Talk on Sunday with all four artists. It will feature a discussion about process, inspiration, origin, and life as an artist.

On Saturday, October 21 at 10am, there will be a “Threads of Gratitude” 3D lab workshop with Diana R, which will allow attendees to create pin and thread artwork. On Sunday, November 12, at 10am, Carlos RM will host an “Automatic Painting” event, which will allow attendees to let their subconscious emerge and find confidence in their creativity.
