The Palace Cultural Arts Association is pleased to bring a recent release based on the best-selling book, WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING, to the historic Marion Palace Theatre big screen on September 2, 3 & 4. The theatre is located at 276 W. Center Street in downtown Marion, Ohio.

Where the Crawdads Sing is a 2022 American mystery thriller drama film based on the 2018 novel of the same name by Delia Owens. It was directed by Olivia Newman from a screenplay by Lucy Alibar and was produced by Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter. The story follows Kya Clark, a young girl abandoned by her family. Kya is better known to the townspeople of Barkley Cove as the Marsh Girl, who is believed to be mysterious and wild. Where the Crawdads Sing is a coming-of-age story of a young girl raised by the marshlands of the south in the 1950s. When the town hotshot is found dead and inexplicably linked to Kya, the Marsh Girl is the prime suspect in his murder case.

WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING runs for about 2 hours and is rated PG-13 for sexual content and some violence including a sexual assault. Showtimes are:

Friday, Sept 2 – 7:30pm

Saturday, Sept 3 – 2:00 & 7:30pm

Sunday, Sept 4 – 2:00 (open captions) & 7:30pm

Movie admission: $5 for all ages and $3 for current 2022-2023 PCAA members presenting a valid membership card. Concessions are available and reasonably priced. Items available for purchase include 20 oz. Pepsi products, popcorn, and boxed theatre candy for $2 each.
