The Miles Elliot Experience - Saturday, July 1st, 8 PM

Named after jazz legend Miles Davis, Miles Elliot was born in Edison, NJ and raised in Bloomfield, CT. He became hooked on music at an early age and began DJing during his early teen years. In 2010 he began his professional DJ career in Hartford, CT under the name DJ M.E.

A.F. Chimes / Pueblo Fantasma - Friday, July 7th, 8 PM

The Buttonwood Tree presents two founding members of legendary New Haven songwriting troupe Milksop: Unsung; A.F. Chimes and Pueblo Fantasma.

Choro das 3 - Saturday, July 8th, 7 PM

Choro das 3 is a family-based trio formed by the sisters: Corina (flute), Lia (7 string guitar) and Elisa (mandolin, clarinet, banjo, accordion and piano). The trio plays Brazilian instrumental music based on choro, an instrumental music genre that emerged in Brazil in the 19th century to become the foundation for all Brazilian music.

Shannon Clark & The Sugar - Friday, July 14th, 8 PM

Shannon Clark and the Sugar made up of husband and wife, Shannon and Brittany Clark, their teenage daughter Navie, and cousin through marriage Joey Howard is a family-driven force of Midwest Americana soul from Greenville, Ohio. Combining honest country storytelling, blues-rock ferocity, and the sweet blend of blood harmonies, Shannon Clark and The Sugar’s newest record, This Old World, out spring 2023, spins silver linings from redefining their spirituality to form a new path and paints a sharp, heartfelt portrait of modern American life.

Will Goble Jazz Quartet - Saturday, July 15th, 8 PM

Hailing from Durham, NC and beginning his musical career in communities rich with mentorship, Will Goble is steadily carving out a unique space for himself as a bassist, composer, bandleader, and educator.

Waberi Jordan - Friday, July 21st, 8 PM

Waberi Jordan is a vocalist and songwriter whose signature is rooted in the Leimert Park Jazz Community of Los Angeles. Raised on a steady diet of straight-ahead jazz, at a time when R&B dominated the airwaves, Waberi’s sound bridges two pivotal eras of artistic expression.

BlueGrass - Saturday, July 22nd, 7 PM

The acoustic duo BluesGrass features two experienced musicians who have been steeped for many years in American roots music, including blues, old-time, folk music, and bluegrass (especially its “bluesy” side). Both are accomplished singers, and their voices blend in close harmony along with strong and evocative instrumental accompaniment.

Jazz Artist Malin Carta - Friday, July 28th, 8 PM

Malin Carta is a saxophonist, woodwind doubler, vocalist, and composer based in CT. A recent graduate of Western Connecticut State University, Malin holds her Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance where she studied under the direction of Grammy-nominated saxophonist Jimmy Greene. 

King Bolete Band - Saturday, July 29th, 8 PM

King Bolete Band is a 4-piece American music group from New Haven, CT. Formed in 2022, KBB is a collection of long-haired eccentrics whose aim is simply to explore the vibrational realm. Their unique brand of entertainment fuses hard-hitting mystical grooves with mind-bending textures and rhythms. They bring an authentic musical experience that will make anybody want to dance through a field of converging mandalas as the river of their minds float blissfully into space!

Anything Goes Open Mic - Every Monday, 7 PM

The Buttonwood Tree features an Anything Goes Open Mic. It is open to all performers: musicians, comedians, poets, dancers, storytellers, etc. Featuring a rotation of hosts. Terri & Rob every first and third week, JD Wise every second week, Nadia & Naji every fourth week, and Rob Santos every fifth week. Sign up in person starting at 6:30 PM.

Laughter Yoga - First & Third Mondays, 5:15 PM

Laughter yoga (Hasyayoga) is a modern exercise involving prolonged voluntary laughter to improve health and reduce stress. Learn how to practice laughter when life gets difficult.
Acoustic Open Mic with Bob Gotta - First Thursdays Live, all other weeks ZOOM, 7 PM

Our Live Acoustic Open Mic hosted by Bob Gotta. Open to all singers and songwriters, or any other type of musician. Signup at 6:30.
