The 2022
Dinner & Auction

The annual dinner/auction returned as an exciting in-person even this year. Bedford families, staff, and friends spent a fun evening tasting hors d'oeuvres and drinks, bidding on a wide array of auction items, enjoying a catered dinner, and hearing from our alumni speaker, Nathan DeRosa, and alumni and parent, Jennifer Davis Lecaros. Highlights included our 50/50 cash raffle, a wine pull, a live auction of fun experiences, and the opportunity to win a beach vacation in our Heads or Tails game! Besides being a fun evening, it was the most successful auction, raising over $50,000.

Track & Field
With over 40 students participating, Bedford's largest track team had a very successful season. Led by Coaches Creighton and Walker, team members enjoyed participating in field events such as long jump, triple jump, shot put and discus and a variety of individual and relay team races. Like our successful basketball teams, our track team took home the season championship.

Les Misérables
For Bedford's spring play, middle school students performed a dramatic version of Victor Hugo's classic novel. It told the story of Jean Valjean, a man who after spending 19 years in prison for stealing bread, redeems himself to become a force of good in a challenging world.

Spring Field Trips
Students and staff were thrilled to once again go on traditional spring overnight field trips. 6th & 7th graders spent 2 nights in Charleston aboard the USS Yorktown, a WWII aircraft carrier. They also enjoyed a carriage tour of Charleston and visited the SC Aquarium. Other 7th-9th graders spent 3 nights in Pigeon Forge where they enjoyed a variety of activities including visiting the Titanic Museum, Wonder Works, the Pirate Dinner Voyage, and a day at Dollywood. 4th and 5th graders had a great time at DeSoto Caverns Park in Childersburg, AL where they panned for gemstones, rode a Gyroscope, found their way through a maze, and enjoyed many other activities before touring and spending the night in the cave. Primary students enjoyed a day trip to Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain, GA where they got to see and feed many types of animals.

Faculty Milestones
Several staff members have had some exciting additions to their families recently. Mr. Nick Creighton and his wife, Erika, welcomed their son, Levi. Mr. Andrew Walker and his wife, Dalia, welcomed their daughter, Catalina. Ms. Caroline Freeman married Mr. Riley Thornton. Congratulations to all of these wonderful families. Congratulations to Mrs. Loren West and Mrs. Katy Giddens on completion of their Master's degrees!

End of Year Honors
Middle School students and families enjoyed the traditional End of Year banquet to recognize and honor their accomplishments throughout the year. Lower School students were recognized at their Awards and Promotion program. Here are some of the students who received special honors.

Students in 4th-9th grade were chosen by the faculty as the Mahaffey Orthodontics All Smiles Award winners for displaying exceptional attitude throughout the year and inspiring those around them to smile.

Athletes were selected by the coaches to receive the Coach's Award in each sport for their sportsmanship, teamwork, and contributions to their teams.

Student scholars received recognition for having the highest academic average in each subject area in the Middle School.

Students were selected by the faculty and students to receive the Aaron Turner Character Award for demonstrating outstanding character in the school community. The award is named after former Bedford teacher, Mr. Aaron Turner, who devoted over 50 years to private education..
