Stark County Artists Exhibition Awards Announced at Massillon Museum

The Massillon Museum celebrated the opening of its annual Stark County Artists Exhibition on December 1 with a reception for the artists.  Awards were announced:

Best in Show:

Chad Troyer, Naame (Reputation), tapestry weaving, wooden sculpture

2nd Place:

David Jentgen, Entwined, photography

3rd Place: 

David L. Kuntzman, Heritage Series 2022–01, acrylic on canvas

Honorable Mentions:

This year’s jurors were: Amber N. Ford, photographer and artist; Dave Szalay, artist and professor of graphic design University of Akron; and Janice Lessman-Moss, artist and head of textiles, Kent State University. They selected artwork to be included in the exhibition as well as the prizes. Visitors throughout the duration of the exhibition will vote for the People’s Choice Award, which will be announced in January.

The Stark County Artists Exhibition can be seen Tuesdays through Saturdays 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sundays 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. except Christmas Day and New Years Day.  The Museum will close at noon on Christmas Eve.  A visit to the Massillon Museum is always free and everyone is welcome.

Those who visit the Stark County Artists Exhibition will also be able to see INTO LIGHT Ohio Project: Continuing the Conversation (through January 4, 2023); Coty Giannelli: Days with Delsie (December 10, 2022 through January 22, 2023); “Carry On:” A Century of Swing (through January 8); Collection Snapshot: Faces of Massillon Business; the Immel Circus; Innovators of Massillon; and the Local History, Albert E. Hise Fine and Decorative Arts; and American Indian galleries.
