Middletown, CT: The Buttonwood Tree Performing Arts Center is excited to present spring art classes by local artist, activist, and educator Caitlin Duffy.

Caitlin Duffy is a mixed media artist living & working in Middletown, CT. She aims to promote accessibility to expressive art for all ages & abilities. She sees this melding well with the Buttonwood's mission & enjoys volunteering there whenever she can.

Neurographic Art is a meditative drawing process created by Prof. Pavel Piskarev in 2015. It is done by creating one continuous looping line which is then "softened" by rounding out the edges & filling white spaces with color. This is a fun way for kids & adults alike to exist in the present moment & tap into a new way of thinking about & creating art! Maybe you haven't done art in a long time, or want to see what you are capable of creating. Caitlin will direct classes on this topic on March 23th and April 6th from 12 to 2 PM.

Caitlin will also be leading classes on collage for kids & adults on March 30th and April 13th, from 12 to 2 PM. You and your child can learn together about color, pattern, & paper selection, then creatively gluing them on your own unique works of collage art! By practicing mindfulness in an accessible, informal class environment guided by Caitlin's soothing attention, you & your family can share precious quality time together.

Classes will take place at The Buttonwood Tree. To reserve, please visit our website at buttonwood.org. Cost for each class is $25 per child, or per child with a parent or guardian supervising. Booking in advance guarantees that art supplies will be provided for you and your kid(s)!

These classes and other TBT events brought to you by our generous donors and patrons, as well as the following organizations: Middletown Commission on the Arts, Community Foundation of Middlesex County, Department of Community and Economic Development.
