Roxey Ballet Professional Dancer Auditions 2022/23

Audition Location: Roxey Ballet Company and Mill Ballet School Studios, 

46 N Sugan Rd. New Hope, PA 18938

Contract is for 18-30 weeks annually depending on dancer.

Auditions are by invitation only.

Prospective artists must be able to live and work in the US.

Ladies, please bring your pointe shoes. All dancers should be prepared to take class, perform choreography, improvise, and take part in a short interview.

Current repertory consists of original, full-length classic and contemporary ballet works in a variety of styles by a variety of choreographers. Former education experience with children is vital for any successful candidate. Additional experience with inner city youth at risk and artists with disabilities is a plus. BEFORE 9PM on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2022

WALK IN REGISTRATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED! 

Fees: 

Audition fee $38. Participation fee $295.00.     

Audition Times:   

- Ages 4 -6: 12pm

-  Ages 7-10: 12:45pm

- Ages 11-13: 1:30pm

- Ages 14+: 2:15pm 

(In order to participate in Roxey Ballet's Nutcracker Production you must be enrolled in, at least, 1 ballet class either at The Mill Ballet School or another studio. )   

Rehearsal Information: 

Rehearsals will begin Saturday, September 17,  2022 at 2:30 pm.

Regular rehearsals are to be scheduled on Saturdays between 2:30-8:30pm and additional rehearsals for certain roles on Sundays or Friday evenings . 

Performers in the cast must attend all scheduled rehearsals! 

Attendance is taken at each rehearsal.

If you miss 2 or more rehearsals you may be asked to leave the production.

A mandatory Parent and Performer Meeting occurs on Saturday, September 17 at  2:30pm. 

This annual production encourages all parents/guardians to volunteer in order to ensure a successful run of the show. Each family should volunteer at least SIX Pre-performance and at least SIX in-theater hours. All families are required to assist with theatre load-outs.

Load In at Villa Victoria and Run Through at the studio Sunday November 20

Tech Rehearsals at Villa Victoria, Monday and Tuesday November 21 & 22 at 5pm

Dress Rehearsal at Villa Victoria,  Friday, November 25 at 5pm

Production Information:  

Performances will occur at the Villa Victoria Theatre in Ewing, NJ. 

Saturday, November 26th  Sensory Friendly performance at 1:00 and Matinee at 3:00pm

Sunday, November 27th at 2pm

Monday, November 28th at 10am School Show

Friday, December 2nd (at Trenton Psychiatric Hospital)

Saturday, December 3 at 2pm

Sunday, December 4 at 2pm

IMPORTANT PRODUCTION PROTOCOLS:

- Studios will be disinfected after each rehearsal and hand sanitizer will be administered regularly.

- To avoid any extra people, parents will not be allowed into the studio area at all.

- Students and or parents must report if they have come in any contact with a person who has been diagnosed or has symptoms of Covid-19

- If a student is not feeling well or has a temperature above 99.5, they should stay home. If a student does attend rehearsal and is found to have a temperature above 99.5 or states they are not feeling well, they will not be permitted to rehearse and be asked to go home.

We encourage students who are of vaccination age to share their vaccination card with us and for those not vaccinated to let us know and get tested regularly for Covid.
