EASTERN STATES THEATRE ASSOCIATION 2024

For the second year in a row, RLT has advanced to the Eastern State Theatre Association (ESTA) Festival which will be held April 26-28 at Chesapeake College in Wye Mills, MD. Our entry this year is an original one-act play written by local playwright G.G. Craig titled “Funeral for the Cat” and directed by Vanessa Markowitz.

Synopsis:  Judy, a widow in her golden years, has invited her daughter and granddaughter to a funeral for her beloved and recently-departed cat. Family conflict ensues as Judy’s vision for the funeral unfolds. This dark comedy features four women and explores themes of grief, family, spirituality, and peeing in your enemy’s shoes.

The play features the acting talents of Cecily Norman, Charlotte Richesson, Marla Harper, and Emily Ray. Aaron Skolnik, who was awarded Outstanding Stage Manager at the 2024 MCTFA, serves as Technical Director and Stage Manager. Our play will perform on Sunday, April 28 at 10 a.m. For information on how to attend the Festival and support RLT, please visit https://estafestival.org/ticketinfo.php.
