Bathroom Construction Update

In February 2022, Pump House Regional Arts Center was awarded a Tourism Capitol Investment Grant (American Rescue Plan Act - ARPA) to help promote, maintain, and bolster Wisconsin's tourism industry because "it's at the core of our local economies. These capital infrastructure projects will help ensure Wisconsin's tourism industry—and all the industries that depend on it—continue to be a strong part of our economy", says Governor Tony Evers.

These renovations are important because it enhances the quality of guest experience as well as public health and safety. The bathroom renovation will expand the women's restroom, increasing the number fixtures, and in both restrooms, change to touchless toilets, faucets, soap dispensers, increase ventilation, and accessibility.

This investment in the arts and infrastructure builds a positive relationship with the community, city, and organization, as the historic Pump House building is owned by the City of La Crosse.

Grant funds were also used to replace and update theater seating.

The Pump House art galleries, performing arts, art classes and Artspire combined, continues to serve 50,000 visitors a year.
