Plan ahead for this First Friday Reception on October 7th 5:30-7:30PM

We will introduce the new exhibit “Fiber Art”.

This First Friday we are honored to have three very popular artists in the gallery doing art demos. Janice Jackson, Hope Love and Cecilia Goett will be here showing us a bit of what they do to create their master pieces.

So don’t miss this one, come out and meet the artists, have some wine and snacks and enjoy some live music.

October 10th,17th, 24th and 31st TIME: 1-4:00PM FEE: $30/35

This class is offered every Monday and you can sign up online, in person or by phone. Dylan will teach you the foundations of drawing, design and color. The next step will be to use those skills on basic elements and principles of art to create new projects. Dylan offers a calm, relaxing space to learn, ask questions and observe. You can sign up for this class online, in person or by phone.

Tuesdays In October Are Fluid Days With Vanessa Spittler Available classes are on the 9th,16th, 23rd and 30th TIME: 12-3:00PM FEE: $65/70

Supplies are provided. You can sign up online, by phone or in person. Tuesdays are all about fluid art and feeling the flow of colors and paint. Vanessa will teach you several techniques during this class and how to mix paints to get the look you want. Students will be guided to make their own fluid art painting on a 16x20 canvas then after it is dry they will be able to take it home.

Wednesdays are for Beginning Oil Painting with Dylan 12:00-3:00PM FEE $40/45

October 5th and 19th

The class will focus on the fundamentals of oil painting. Basic materials, composition, and techniques will be covered. Those elements will be used to create simple compositions. The class will continue to develop in complexity over time. Brushes, canvas, and basic paint will be provided.

Thursdays in October - Watercolor with Jane

October 13th, 20th, and the 27th TIME: 10-1:00PM FEE: $25/30

Explore the magic of watercolor with Jane on Thursdays. Hobby artists to experienced painters are welcome. Class size is limited, so it’s a good idea to sign up as soon as the dates are released. We are happy to help with supplies, just let us know when you sign up. You can sign up online, over the phone or in person.

KIDS Art Class with Dylan Saturday October 8th and 22nd 12:00-3:00PM ,

Ages 10-18, FEE $20/55

The kid’s class will work on incorporating fundamentals of art into a different project each week.

Wine Whine and Design with Greta Watkins, October 23rd 5:00-7:30PM FEE $40/45

Greta will guide you through a fun colorful beachy pumpkin painting while in a relaxed setting, all while enjoying a glass of wine. Bring a friend or two to join you.

October 22nd - Saturday - Paint Party with Kaleigh Glover

TIME: 5:30-8:00PM FEE:$40/45

Come to the Port Aransas Art Center and enjoy a fun evening painting with Kaleigh while sipping on a glass of wine and kicking back island style. She will guide you through painting an 11x16 canvas that will remind you of visiting Port Aransas. You will then get to take your masterpiece home with you and enjoy it for years to come.

October 14th - Saturday - How to take better pictures with John Morris

TIME: 9:00-11:00AM FEE:$25/30

Regardless of what kind of camera you use, and the intended use of your pictures, John will help guide you through some simple steps to get better shots. For this class you will meet outside on the deck and after some brief discussion, you will head out to capture the beauty of local landscapes, iconic sights, and wildlife.
